ס״ק אשתי תפלות

(א) שתי תפלות - כגון שחרית ומוסף או ששכח ולא התפלל וצריך להשלימה בזמן תפלה שלאחריה ומתפלל שתים. והנה לפי מה שיבואר בסימן ק"ח במשנה ברורה דבין ששכח ערבית ומתפלל שחרית שתים להשלמה ובין ששכח שחרית ומתפלל מנחה שתים להשלמה צריך לומר אשרי בין תפלה לתפלה לא יצוייר דין זה רק בשכח תפלת המנחה שמתפלל ערבית שתים להשלמה דשם לא יאמר אשרי כמו שמבואר שם במ"ב דצריך עכ"פ להמתין כדי ד"א:

(1) 'Two prayers' — such as Shacharis and Musaf, or one who forgot and did not pray, so that he must make up the missed prayer at the time of the next one and thus prays two prayers. Now, according to what will be explained in siman 108 in the Mishnah Berurah, that whether one forgot Maariv and prays Shacharis twice as a make-up, or forgot Shacharis and prays Mincha twice as a make-up, he must recite Ashrei between the one prayer and the other — this law here (of merely pausing) applies only in the case where one forgot the Mincha prayer and prays Maariv twice as a make-up, for there he does not say Ashrei, as is explained there in the Mishnah Berurah, and so in that case he must at least wait the time it takes to walk four cubits.

ס״ק בלהמתין וכו'

(ב) להמתין וכו' - ושיעור זה צריך להיות אחר שעקר רגליו ואמר עושה שלום וגו':

(2) 'To pause, etc.' — this measure of waiting must be reckoned only after he has taken the steps back at the end of the prayer (uprooting his feet) and has said 'Oseh shalom,' and so forth.

ס״ק גבין וכו'

(ג) בין וכו' - כתב בספר שולחן שלמה וכן אם סיים שמונה עשרה אף שעדיין לא עקר רגליו ונזכר שטעה וצריך לחזור ולהתפלל ימתין כזה:

(3) 'Between, etc.' — The Shulchan Shlomo writes that likewise, if one finished the Shemoneh Esrei — even though he has not yet taken the steps back — and he then recalled that he had erred and must repeat the prayer, he should wait this same amount of time before starting again.

ס״ק דכדי הילוך וכו'

(ד) כדי הילוך וכו' - אפילו אינו רוצה לחזור למקומו אלא מתפלל שנית במקום שעומד שם כשפסע אחר תפלה הראשונה אבל לחזור למקומו אפי' אינו רוצה להתפלל שנית צריך להמתין כמש"כ בסימן קכ"ג:

(4) 'The time it takes to walk, etc.' — this pause is required even when he does not wish to return to his original place, but prays the second time right where he is standing after stepping back from the first prayer. But to return to his place, even if he does not intend to pray a second time at all, he must still wait, as is written in siman 123.
